Edwardian Country House

BERKSHIRE

When my clients swapped London living for this Edwardian country house in Berkshire, they knew they’d found an absolute gem of a home. My challenge was to capture the original spirit of the property while updating it for 21st century family life. To do that, I integrated many of the existing features within a contemporary design style. While the drawing room’s rich wood panelling makes it an exceptional space for evening entertainment, the original floors – for example in the hall – have been brought to life through lighter tones of paint. Dashes of colour give the bedrooms and lounges a relaxed air, and the family’s sense of humour is captured in the animals that adorn the walls and original mantelpieces.
